Servers - Hosting & Support
The Computer Center supports servers owned by staff members and Technion units and hosts it in the main server hall. Some of these services are free of charge and some are provided for a reasonable fee.
Distant support of the clients server usually includes installation and maintenance of Unix/ Linux operating systems, and installation and update of scientific and other software, usually site licensed.
Server hosting at the Computer Center provides air conditioning and temperature control, automatic alarm and fire control system, UPS and generator connection in case of power outage, monitoring of computer availability, hosting in a locked server hall manned 24 hours a day all year long.
